Upon the Decree of the President of the USSR was appointed to the position of the Judge of the 59th military tribunal of the 7th Army of the Transcaucasian District located in Armenia.

April 26, 1995

Was elected as a Judge of the Military Affairs Panel of the Supreme Court by the Supreme Council of Armenia.

August 15, 1997

Upon the Decree of the RA President was appointed to the position of the Chairman of the Judicial Panel of Military affairs of the Supreme Court and the Deputy of the President of the Supreme Court of the Republic of Armenia, then by the Decree of December 18, 1997 also a member of the Presidium of the Supreme Court.

In connection with the dissolution of the Supreme Court of the Republic of Armenia, he performed the 

temporary duties of the Head of the Supervisory Service of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Armenia.

Upon the Decree of the RA President was appointed to the position of a Judge of the Court of Appeal for Criminal and Military Cases of the Republic of Armenia.

Upon the Decree of the RA President was appointed to the position of a Judge of the Criminal Chamber of the Court of Cassation.

2016 to 2018

Held the position of the Chairman of the Criminal Chamber of the Court of Cassation of the Republic of Armenia, and now he serves as a Judge in the same court.

1999 - 2004

Served as a Member of the Council of Justice of the Republic of Armenia.

Since 1995

He has been engaged in scientific and pedagogical activities. Taught at Yerevan State University, Public Administration Academy of the RA and other universities. He has been teaching at the Russian-Armenian University since 2004.

In 1998

Defended a Ph.D. thesis at Yerevan State University related to the complex research of military aspects of Armenian criminal law and the development and presentation of a new theoretical model of military crimes.

In 2016

Was appointed as the Chairman of the Armenian representation of the "Union of Criminologists" a regional non-governmental organization.

Continued the military service in the Contracts and Foreign Relations Department of the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Armenia as a group Officer, Senior Officer, Head of the Department (He has the Military Rank of Lieutenant Colonel of Justice of Reserve).

September 7, 2017

Upon the Decree of the RA President, on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the foundation of the Russian-Armenian University, was awarded the honorary title of Honored Lawyer of the Republic of Armenia for his significant contribution to the development of jurisprudence and the strengthening of legality.

June 6, 2018

Upon the order No. 568-A/2 of the RA Minister of Education and Science was included in the list of beneficiaries of the "Effective Researcher-2017" contest.

He is the author of 120 scientific, educational and methodical works, including 10 monographs, 5 textbooks and training manuals, more than 90 scientific articles and international reports, which were published in Yerevan, Moscow, Saint Petersburg, Budapest, Germany, Nagorno Karabakh. He is also the co-author of the "Encyclopedia of Criminal Law" published for the first time in Saint Petersburg with 35 volumes.

December 28, 2011

Upon the order of the Chairman of the Supreme Certifying Commission was appointed the Chairman of the 063 Specialized Council of Law at the Armenian-Russian University.

March 6, 2020

By order No. 299-A/2 of the Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports of the Republic of Armenia, as a judge of the Court of Cassation of the Republic of Armenia, he was included in the list of beneficiaries of the "100 Highly Effective Researchers-2018" competition, implemented at the expense of the State Budget of the Republic of Armenia.
