Graduated from Russian Secondary School No. 132 of Yerevan.

Graduated from Yerevan State University, Law Faculty.

PROFESSIONAL ACTIVITY

1995 - 1999

Served in the Legal Department of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia, and then in the Legal Service holding the positions of Statistician, Consultant, Senior Consultant, Head of the Service's Information Center and Chief Specialist.

January 5, 1999

Upon the Decree of the RA President was appointed to the position of the Judge of the First Instance Court of Arabkir and Kanaker-Zeytun Communities of Yerevan.

June 1, 2006

Upon the Decree of the RA President was appointed to the position of the Judge of the Court of General Jurisdiction of the Kentron and Nork-Marash Communities of Yerevan.

2008

Upon the Decree of the RA President was appointed to the position the Judge of the Yerevan Civil Court.

February 27, 2009

Upon the Decree of the RA President was appointed to the position the Judge of the Court of General Jurisdiction of Arabkir and Kanaker-Zeytun Communities of Yerevan.

October 10, 2010

Upon the Decree of the RA President was appointed to the position the Judge of the Civil and Administrative Chamber of the Court of Cassation.

May 2, 2023

Upon the Decree of the RA President was appointed to the position of the Chairman of the Civil Chamber of the Court of Cassation.

OTHER INFORMATION

During the years of working in the RA National Assembly G. Hakobyan was a member of working groups dealing with the drafts of the RA Civil Code, the RA Civil Procedure Code, the RA Law "On Enforced Execution of Judicial Acts", the RA Law "On the Service Ensuring Enforced Execution of Judicial Acts" and the RA Law "On Intermediate Courts and Intermediary Proceedings", presented the draft of the RA Law "On the Service Ensuring the Enforcement of Judicial Acts" in the RA National Assembly.

In 2007

G. Hakobyan assisted in organizing a case law winter school for legal clinics organized by USAID, ABA and CEELI.

In 2016-2018

As a local expert G. Hakobyan participated in the development of the draft of the RA Civil Procedure Code adopted in 2018, and after its adoption he participated in the seminars as a trainer.

G. Hakobyan was a member of the State Exam Committee of the Faculty of Law of Yerevan State University.
